Review on Victron Phoenix Inverter VE Direct REC040010210R by David Baer

Flashed and fried.: Starters, Chargers, and Portable Power Supplies

Edit: and number 3. I don't think any of those particular switches work and aren't designed to work with Victor Phoenix. . The third doesn't work. Before use, I checked the polarity of the wires, it did not help. Maybe I thought the manufacturer got the +high and -low polarities mixed up so I swapped them, but it still doesn't work. Who developed them? So now I have one more hole in the front of my custom wooden box that fits this exact switch, with no working switches. And they told me that a replacement would come and that I didn't have to send a refund, but I was paid for it. So, $50 and a broken switch. To edit. I got a second one to replace the fryblock and guess what, it never turned on. I checked my Victron inverter again, it works, checked the remote function, it works. Victron appears to be a good company but the packaging looked like the products had either been returned or shipped. Both times we ordered inverters from us. Called support, no answer. I will definitely mention them in the YouTube video to talk about as we travel and shoot. I ordered this in October and it has been in the box ever since. I just installed it today, it flashed and my Victron Phoenix inverter lit up for a second then shut off. I reconnected the switch and remote control, nothing happened. I brought the loop back to the remote connector to make sure my inverter didn't explode, luckily it didn't. But the switch still didn't work. There's a sticker on it that says everything's fine. Lmao seems to be good, it's not good because this thing was fried immediately. I have also been in the field of advanced electronics for over 20 years, it should be easy installation and failsafe switch.

Pros
  • Starters, Chargers, and Portable Power Supplies
Cons
  • Reliability
