Review on 🎀 Pyle PMKSH28 Black Microphone Boom Suspension Stand: Scissor Spring Arm Floor Mic Stand with Shock Mount & Pop Filter – Ultimate Audio Stability and Clarity by Ben Diesel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Almost perfect, but not bad for the price.

My impression when unpacking: * Parts are heavier than expected. * The base is quite wide which was a bit of an issue given my space constraints but I can see why you might need a large diameter base (stability) * The threads on the extensions seem clean and not cheap, especially compared to cheaper competitor mounts. * The extensions themselves were also very strong and heavy. * Stretched into the base, everything looks solid without hesitation. * The lever is very smooth. and is actually a lot longer than my old one and the springs are doing their job well. * The pop filter was actually surprisingly decent. It doesn't creak when you flex the plastic, which feels solid and sturdy, and the other end conveniently attaches to the top where the mic attaches. especially for studio or light stage use. * Tightening/loosening feels very good throughout. * If your microphone is hanging to the ground, there are some limitations on the range of motion of the tilt. * The shock mount is unlike any other. seen but it looks like it will work fine with small to medium sized mics BUT BEWARE IF YOU HAVE A BLUE YETI*** there is no chance it will fit on this shock. What a shame as I felt like the digging I was doing seemed to indicate this was going to happen. Other things to note: I've asked questions about bar extender height and never got a proper answer. I have provided the guides and their specs so anyone who is buying or interested in buying will know exactly what they are getting into. I'm a little confused as to why the height isn't listed in the description. You shouldn't hide. Let me clarify that the height of the stand without the bracket is 39.37 inches and the diameter of the base is 11.81 inches. This product exceeds what it appears to be in the ad. I just want the damper to be good for me and maybe I need to look at their other baseplate options. Final Thoughts: After all that I have considered I would give this product 5/5 stars, nothing is worth downgrading this product. There are areas for potential improvement or new iterations, but I don't think it's worth dropping a star for. I'd recommend this considering it's the only convertible floor or table kit with this much weight and build quality at this price point and it has some solid benefits.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Almost everything there
