Arrived defective, seller unavailable

The bolt on the boom end of the mic stand that was sent to me is the wrong size. It's too small to fit on both the shock and the included mic mounts. I tried asking Pyle for help, but their support team was almost unresponsive (except for a Facebook message that came a day after contacting them and didn't help at all). I was excited to get this product and it was nothing short of a major headache. I will not order from Paul again.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Weight

Much bigger and stronger than expected

This item is large. It's also a lot stronger than I expected. The heavy base is essential and gives it a good, firm footing. The hand is one of the largest sold. I have about 6 hands floating around this studio and the one that came with this stand is right there with the biggest and strongest hands I have ever owned or seen for sale. This arm is strong enough to handle the SM7b even with a large metal extension tube attached. I can sit and stand while setting up the mic and the whole processโ€ฆ

Very stable! Quality workmanship

I love that I can easily switch between using the mic for my computer setup or using it on my piano by just shaking my hand and the mic itself twist a little, which is simply the compression of a shock absorber. My scissor arm that came with the mic I bought bent and became unusable at the clamp, I suspect due to the weight. That's why I ordered this solution. The entire mic stand and Pyle arm are much stronger. As much as I love the idea of a tabletop stand, I'm sure this stand won't breakโ€ฆ

  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

:/ Slight bend on stands

When I screwed my Yeti mic directly onto the stand, the scissor mount (with a little persuasion) stayed at the correct height. It sometimes started to sag a bit even though I tightened everything as tight as I could. I was able to slide it up and it would stay up for a while - eventually it started to sag a bit. However, after I added my new Blue Radius shock mount and screwed the mic onto my head, the boom could NOT get it high enough for me (5ft 6in) to sing. I didn't have to tightenโ€ฆ

I can only say WOW!

I bought one of these boom mic stands for a variety of uses including podcast recording, twitch streaming and general use on Zoom calls. It's really awesome. The quality is excellent. Very heavy and well built. I don't mind dropping the mic when it's fully extended, even if it's on a carpet. My favorite part about these stands is being able to extend the boom over my computer monitors, which are mounted on the monitor mount in the highest setting. I use a standing desk so I had to fiddle withโ€ฆ

Almost Perfect - Microphones and Accessories

I've used a lot of different stands in the past, including desktop mounts, and they all seem to have a few flaws. In most cases, those attached to the table will slide off the table or leave dents in the wood and scratches in the metal and glass. I decided I was done with desktop mounts and gave this stand a try. The first thing I worried about was that it would be too weak and fall over with heavy mics. Fortunately this is not the case. In fact, it's strong enough that I can easily slip aโ€ฆ

Almost perfect, but not bad for the price.

My impression when unpacking: * Parts are heavier than expected. * The base is quite wide which was a bit of an issue given my space constraints but I can see why you might need a large diameter base (stability) * The threads on the extensions seem clean and not cheap, especially compared to cheaper competitor mounts. * The extensions themselves were also very strong and heavy. * Stretched into the base, everything looks solid without hesitation. * The lever is very smooth. and is actually aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
