When I screwed my Yeti mic directly onto the stand, the scissor mount (with a little persuasion) stayed at the correct height. It sometimes started to sag a bit even though I tightened everything as tight as I could. I was able to slide it up and it would stay up for a while - eventually it started to sag a bit. However, after I added my new Blue Radius shock mount and screwed the mic onto my head, the boom could NOT get it high enough for me (5ft 6in) to sing. I didn't have to tighten anything. The pole just wasn't strong enough. So I turned the Yeti right side up. The (flabby) arrow had enough power to keep it high enough. I really like the stand, I just want it to be able to support the weight of the shock and Yeti mic (flipped) and keep it high enough.
