This item is large. It's also a lot stronger than I expected. The heavy base is essential and gives it a good, firm footing. The hand is one of the largest sold. I have about 6 hands floating around this studio and the one that came with this stand is right there with the biggest and strongest hands I have ever owned or seen for sale. This arm is strong enough to handle the SM7b even with a large metal extension tube attached. I can sit and stand while setting up the mic and the whole process is completely simple and transparent. I'm really impressed and it's not easy.
