Review on πŸ’§ Zoeller 004892 Pump Switch Replacement for 50 and 90 Series Pumps by Justin Cranford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I fixed my own sump pump!

It worked. This 60 year old young lady repaired her sump pump herself! My pump Zoeller M98 1/2 HP It's been 4 years now and we've had a lot of heavy rains. The palette stayed on - didn't turn off. I got a new switch and rubber gasket. I fixed it in about an hour. I've been watching videos on YOUtube of people replacing them just to be sure. The 4 screws on the top were easy to loosen. The hardest part was removing the top piece with the switch. I had to break the seal from the rubber gasket - I inserted a flat screwdriver and hit it hard with a hammer. The wiring is very simple - be careful - white to white, black to black and DO NOT flip. Be careful not to pinch the wires when you close the cover. Works great. The pump has performed well during the really heavy rains we've had in Illinois recently. We have not tested the pressure in our device. We dunked it in water to check for bubbles/leaks. These switches are expected to last 2 to 3 years depending on usage. We have 4 of these and they only have a one year warranty. Rather than buying a new sump I will be ordering another replacement switch at a replacement price of $35 and keep it handy. They are sold for less on several websites but without the rubber gasket/seal. If you have to order the pad separately, you pay ridiculous shipping costs for the $2 piece. This is the cheapest way.
