I have a competing brand of ratchet straps and wanted to compare them. The belt I have now I have been using for 4 years and have replaced it twice because over time the corium is breaking and starting to peel off the belt. It has a magnetic ratchet which is different from the buckle on this belt. The buckle on this belt uses a small spring to operate a ratchet. I haven't owned this strap long enough to rate the durability of this strap, but if the spring fails, the ratchet will stop working properly. My magnetic ratchet doesn't use a spring at all. The overall quality of the belt appears to be good. The buckle feels light and the leather looks good. The ratchet itself is easy to use and can be operated with one hand. The belt can also be shortened to the desired length.
