My husband rode in loose shorts with built-in suede and was perfectly happy, but my brother uses suede "underpants" and recommended them for more versatility. After reading MANY reviews on different brands (the one not mentioned was funny, got on his knees for concealment and driving - so interesting!) I settled on this one. My husband has a 38-40 waist with a wide middle so I read the sizing reviews carefully and bought him XXXL. They sit comfortably on him, don't ride up or down - he is VERY happy with them as he can now ride with any shorts. Not as soft as some, but good for casual cyclists. We typically ride about 15 miles - he said after 20 miles he would have preferred a more durable suede, but again he's happy and content with the new underwear.
