Duck Jerky for the discriminating mutt

My picky "Portuguese Pedengo Pequeno", at least that's what my neighbor's daughter believes, will only eat duck jerky as a treat. I used to be able to buy it at Walgreen's "Pet Shoppe" brand, but they have, apparently, stopped making it. It's expensive, about $16.00/ lb, so getting this product at about $14.50/ lb was worth a try. Maxi loves it and I froze about 2/3rd of it and take it as needed. I have gotten equally good duck jerky for a lower price on Best Buy, but that item…

Pros
  • You can tell they enjoyed it the way they devoured it.
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other dog treats

American made duck jerky

These duck jerky strips are much drier than the ones I have bought at Costco. However, the Costco strips are made in China and I was looking for made in the USA. Unfortunately, my dogs don't like these nearly as well.

Pros
  • Dogs love the savory taste and texture of these treats
Cons
  • Could cause constipation if given excessively

Many dogs, all love these!

I have a dozen dogs all but one are large dogs and also have some boarders who stay and get treated just like my dogs. Lots of exercise and eighty acres to run on. Sometimes I walk the entire pack together and want them to all pay attention and insure that the new ones stay with me and do not run to the road. Having them know that I have these with me makes for a pleasant walk. I took my plumber's hyperactive German shorthair pup with the pack while he was working at my home but gave her a…

Pros
  • These treats are softer than the the other ones are very dry and brittle
Cons
  • Could cause bad breath in some dogs

I wont buy these again on Best Buy

These use to be great bought on Best Buy but, this last pack was not in the normal bag and were very hard.I have a small dog 4 lbs. who loves these as I buy them at least once a month but, I will go back to buying them from the company themselves. I really liked the shipping time but, if I didn't open these I'd be returning them

Pros
  • No artificial preservatives or chemicals used in the making of the treats
Cons
  • Could cause bloating and gas if given in large quantities

Domestic Duck Jerkey

I have looked everywhere for a domestic duck jerky, of good quality and price, for my cat. I found it! My finicky cat loves duck jerky. But with all the negative reports attached to the stuff from China, I was at a loss. Even the Big Box Pet stores had the stuff from China. This jerkey is of fine quality and must taste great because my baby girl loves it!

Pros
  • Just good jerky - good quality, and my buddy likes them.
Cons
  • May contain artificial preservatives and flavors

These duck treats ARE made in US. They are an excellent replacement for the duck treats made in China. Duck jerky is the only treat my dog really likes. Very glad I made the discovery. Their only negative factor is they are very rich, you have to limit your pet to only the recommended number per day so as not to cause loose stool.

Pros
  • 12.17 x 10.47 x 3.07 inches; 2 Pounds
Cons
  • May not be ideal for dogs with food intolerances

One of our dogs, the most favored, is .

One of our dogs, the most favored, is real finicky, and spurns most dog treats. He loves duck, and we started buying this brand last year because they are supposedly made in the USA, and there has been concerns about ill effects of duck jerky produced in China. But the labeling is super-scanty, which doesn't boost confidence, and now the product description on Best Buy no longer says anything about being "made in USA". So--our dog loves this product, but I'm feeling a little suspicious…

Pros
  • This is my dog’s favorite treat! He loves it so much that I buy the biggest packs possible.
Cons
  • Could lead to weight gain if given excessively

Deceptive ingredients listed

Nothing in their list of ingredients does it list sorbitol, starch or vegetable glycerin. Lying to sell products is illegal and immoral. I will never purchase anything else from happy dog.

Pros
  • Jerky
Cons
  • The packaging does not provide a long shelf life

Dogs love however stale.

My dogs love duck jerky and it is very hard to find made in the USA. When we received the package it was not sealed. The strips were stale from day one. They will eat them, however I will not order them or anything from this company again with such poor packaging.

Pros
  • My dog loves these!
Cons
  • The large size may not be convenient for training purposes

Just Duck with no additives made in the USA

I have a Golden Retriever with allergies and was looking for plain and simple duck jerky to replace the brand from China I had been using. This is 100% duck with nothing else added and my dog readily eats them. They are rather small so go through them rather quickly for my large dog, but other than that, I would recommend them to anyone looking at these types of products.

Pros
  • My dogs love them! Great product and value!
Cons
  • May not be ideal for dogs with digestive issues

Very suspicious of it

I bought these since they claim they're made in the USA. Yeah, well no where on the package does it list a state or town. The package is not even sealed. It has 2 snaps holding the flap down. I went to the website where the price is much lower by the way and the site is very suspicious. They make no claim as to the location in the US where the product is made or by whom and the site appears to be a warehouse type of place. Also, there is no phone number to even call. I googled the site and…

Pros
  • HDP
Cons
  • Not ideal for dogs with liver problems

Duck Treats: my feedback

I received these in a timely manner and in great condition. I have ordered several bags, but the price has gone up $9 per bag, so I am trying to find another item comparable to this for my dogs. My dog is allergic to most treats and is gluten free, so these work perfectly except for the price.

Pros
  • My little dog loves them. Made in China however. 🤭🤔
Cons
  • Could be a potential choking hazard if broken into smaller pieces

Made in China: my feedback

These are no longer made in the USA. My most recent purchase - the bag looks different, and they have a very strong odor, which they didn't before. The bag now clearly states they're made in China. I decided to let my dog eat these but not to reorder since I only want products exclusively made in the USA, and my dog doesn't even really like them as much, so I'm going to end up throwing away more than half of the bag. I won't be ordering these again

Pros
  • Great treat dog loves this!!
Cons
  • Could cause allergic reactions in certain breeds

My dog loves them best in my review

My dog loves them. They are good treats for good behavior. Would like them better if they were slightly less expensive. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Always on or before promised date 4 delivery & product always fresh!
Cons
  • Could cause dehydration if not given with enough water

its the best Ive found

My chihuahua gets treats twice a day, I have a different brand of duck jerky that I am trying to get rid of because its very dry and hard and kind of scares me to leave her alone while eating it.this is soft and very moist, I ordered another even before giving her more than a few pieces. I hope this stays available for a long time, its the best Ive found!

Pros
  • My dogs both love theses!
Cons
  • May not be suitable for dogs on a low-sodium diet

Worth it if you really love your dog.

My dog loves these ducky treats. They're made in America. the Cadet ones are made in China. They are smaller than the Cadet ones and significantly more expensive, but I do love my dog.

Pros
  • This 32-ounce package of jerky strips provides excellent value for money, making it a great addition to any household with dogs
Cons
  • Not ideal for dogs with a history of pancreatitis

Would be better if it were chewier

Would be better if it were chewier. seems a little brittle But I put a wet paper towel in the bag and that seems to help soften it up some, I have a small dog and he will not eat it if it is to brittle. Other than that. It's great.

Pros
  • Provides an excellent source of essential nutrients such as zinc and iron
Cons
  • Could cause lethargy if given in large amounts

very tasty! for my opinion

My miniature poodle puppy is a very picky eater. She is not really interested in food at all. i am giving away or donating all the snacks and treats i purchased - she does not like pretty much anything! I am so glad that I finally found this product! It is made of real meat and my puppy loves it! This is Very Good product! i will be buying it all the time.

Pros
  • An excellent option for pet owners who are concerned about the ingredients in their dogs' food and treats
Cons
  • Could cause a blockage in the intestines if given in large chunks

Quality USA Made Product

These duck jerky strips are made in the USA. I only feed my pets treats made in the USA as I feel that they are much safer. The price may seem substantial initially but as someone else mentioned - 2lbs is a lot of jerky. If the price is a little higher - well so is the quality. And your pet will love these, mine do. And really feeding cheaper China produced treats is much costlier in the long run as they do contribute to deteriorating health issues - if not actually causing them outright. The…

Pros
  • The treats can be used to encourage fussy eaters to try new foods
Cons
  • Not ideal for dogs with a history of food aggression

Great Treat best in my review

Our Dog Maggie loves these treats. It has become her favorite. Since they are a US product we don't worry about her getting sick. We will continue to buy this product because it makes her very happy and she goes through her commands without a hitch.Gary

Pros
  • Treats
Cons
  • The flavor may not be appealing to all dogs
