Review on ๐ŸŒฟ Tacobear 20-inch Artificial Plastic Green Aquarium Fish Tank Underwater Plant - Lifelike Aquatic Plants by Barbara Murphy

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Extremely smelly cloudy aquarium water

Artificial plants arrived quickly at Revain as usual. When they opened the box and removed the plants from the plastic bags, they were greeted with an awful chemical smell. I'm assuming they're put in plastic bags right after production and don't allow for pre-aeration. I am setting up a new 65 gallon tank and preparing it for a fish free cycle. I soaked and rinsed these smelly plants with hot, warm, and cold water several times for 3-4 hours before putting them in the tank. Aside from the usual effect of bacterial blooms clouding the water, these plants continued to cloud my water while cycling and gave the aquarium water a chemical odor. Two weeks into my bike ride I had to completely drain the tank and refill with fresh water and I'm trying again. If the smell and hazy effects of these plants continue I will update. At the moment I DO NOT RECOMMEND them! To update! Today is May 5th, almost 2 months with these plastic plants. The awful smell eventually went away, but only after the plants shed some kind of transparent coating. *cm. Photos* Of course, these plants came out of the aquarium and ended up in the trash. I don't see how they can be safe for an aquarium sucking up that horrible smell and anything that comes off them. As already mentioned, I DO NOT RECOMMEND them! Spend your money to buy an aquarium safe product from a known source, not theirs.
