A friend advised me to try bone conduction headphones, the experience is really interesting. I don't have an earphone in my ear canals but there are two pads that touch my cheekbones to hear the sound, what a new experience! I can hear what's happening around me when I'm listening to my music. After using the provided earplugs, the noise from the outside world diminished. I wouldn't say the sound quality is excellent as some high frequency tones are inaudible unless you apply extra pressure to the two pads. (Yes, just like listening to music while chewing your food, changing the mix of different frequencies will change what you hear.) The entire set of headphones is smaller than I expected, it's quite easy to wear and comfortable. but at least for me.
