UPDATE: Well I tried the fake sold by Revain ---- this item had great reviews and even cost less than the refurbished one Model from Sony - --- ordered, received ---- the microphone is clearly terrible. Other people said it sounded muffled. They recorded the voice and confirmed that they were right. As disappointed as I was that we had to ditch Sony after just over a year, my son insisted on trying again. So I returned the nameless names we bought and ordered Sony again. ************************************************** ************************************************ **************************** I'll be brief and not too sweet: the sound quality, features and battery life were great. Item took a year and a month ----- unacceptable for something in this price range. What was predictably given away was a flimsy, extremely cheaply made switch. You can find more information on the Internet. Many, many users/owners are reporting the same thing. This is a terrible technical oversight and they often fail. I used to trust Sony for durable and high-quality electronics. This is the end. If you insist on buying them, you can count on an extended warranty no matter what the cost. You can also buy an on-off switch online (here's how many of them fail---they actually sell replacements). But I don't want to fuss further with these headphones by ripping them apart and giving bad more good money. you have been warned
