Most motherboards only have 2 USB ports on the board and in most cases these 2 ports are used for the USB ports on the case. Enter these new "LED" lighted CPU coolers that need to be plugged into one of these USB headers to control LED lighting effects. In many cases you will short out 1 USB port. My AMD Ryzen 7 processor came with a Wraith Prism CPU cooler and this cooler plugs directly into the USB header on the motherboard (I only had 2). The splitter is plugged directly into the integrated USB socket and offers you an additional socket. Thanks to the splitter I now have my CPU and both USBs of my case connected to the motherboard and everything is working fine. No additional settings, software or utilities required (Windows 10 Pro x64). Just plug it in, switch on the system and off you go. The splitter circuit board comes with double-sided foam adhesive on the bottom, so you can stick the small circuit board anywhere you can put it. The cable is about 6 inches long, which helped in my case because I was able to position the breakout connector closer to my case's USB ports. The product works and is inexpensive.
