I've been buying these Square Deal "4 mil" sockets for 5 years and each batch is the same size within a reasonable tolerance. They aren't too big and only deliver 1/8-1/4", most consistently closer to 1/8", which I like. Differences to the LP cover itself are of course inevitable. The sleeves work well with standard and regular covers; There are of course tailored or oversized jackets that don't fit, but I'd rather have unique sleeves on them than sleeves that are too big to accommodate multiple oversized jackets. I mostly use them horizontally to protect the cover when working on an album during playback to allow the open end to match the open end of the LP cover. But I also use them vertically and they look the same on the shelf. I often put them in a second outer sleeve with envelope, fold over hem to protect from dust during storage (different product). The consistent size of these Square Deal cases ensures I can do this over time as my collection grows. The thickness is strong and easy to insert into the LP shell, it will not bend or kink. The material is non-shiny, has a smooth appearance, but when inserted into a second, shinier outer shell, that shell becomes almost invisible. With these square cases I get a good and stable product. The only annoyance is that I rarely get the quantity I want at a certain time, most of the time I have to buy 100 instead of 50.
