As other reviewers point out, it's a shame the projection size on the ceiling isn't bigger. But otherwise it works great as a night light for my daughter. She has a huge passion for space and all things space these days so this was an obvious choice to help her with her fear of sleeping in total darkness and it should help save me money over her previous inclination to get up and turn them over. light it up and leave it on all night. Not only does the projection on the ceiling bring light into the room, but the blue sphere itself glows quite nicely to brighten the room. tend to fade. If so I will come back and update my review. The only downside is that you can't turn off the night light. As such, it's always on when the light in the room is off (it uses a light-sensitive switch that turns on and off automatically as needed) unless you unplug it from the wall or accidentally find a free one, optimally placed switch outlet to use it. I thought about adding a built in timer so it only runs at night but it wasn't really worth it given the cost of the night light and its meager power requirements.
