Review on ⚡️ Panamax M8-EX 8 AC Outlet Surge Protector - Superior Silver Shielding for Ultimate Power Protection by Ryan Hampton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Past problems with other network filters and why I'm spending extra money on panamax.

I used to buy cheap surge protectors. My ceiling fan no longer works. I check the power supply and notice 120V on the red and black wires, the red wire should be power and the black wire should be ground. After many hours of isolating the circuit that had this problem, removing all outlets on that circuit, and unplugging everything, I determined that the problem was a cheap surge protector. As soon as I turned it off, the problem was solved. An internal problem in the surge protector was causing current on both lines, and the fact that my circuit breaker didn't trip was odd. Never in my life have I seen such a problem. Also in the past, during a thunderstorm, my TV burned out and Tivo, another cheap surge protector. I've learned my lesson. I first bought a quality panamax protector (M5300-PM) for my entertainment center and then others like the MR5100. I also have some smaller panamax surge protectors like the M8-EX. It's been over 3 years now and never had a problem with the signal. The Panamax isn't cheap in price, but it's a lot cheaper than the issues I've had with other cheap surge protectors. Monster PSU is another really good company to buy; I have one of their large HTS 5100 MKII surge protectors. However, the monster is very expensive. Panamax is a budget choice that has worked for me for many years. Their products aren't cheap, but they're not outrageously expensive either.
