Review on Dorman 601 160 Intensity Discharge Headlight by Brandon Peters

First of all, my ballast package came in literally just a box. No packaging, bubble wrap or peanut wrap, just ballast in a fairly large cardboard box. I wondered why anyone would carry ballast this way, but I tried not to let it change my idea of what it actually was. As long as it fits and works I need this. It doesn't fit my '06 Range Rover Sport S/C. The part number matches the original and is said to fit my Revain car as well. However it works like a ballast, it lights up my bulbs and it fits in the harness connector but not the housing. The front cover/housing was detached upon arrival. It could have something to do with landing problems. I tried this ballast along with the original and it looks like it has plastic tabs holding it in place. They appear to be a bit shorter than the originals, so they don't fit. I wouldn't pull the trigger on that ballast, looks like Rockauto was the best route. It's pretty annoying. Now I'm $80 further from a true replacement.
