It was a nightmare. We needed 3 chairs so I bought 2 sets which we got lucky with because I was able to put 2 out of 4 together by combining what was in 2 boxes. The boxes arrived terribly dented with chair parts dangling and dented. My guess is that the hardware for one of the boxes fell out of one of the holes in the boxes because there was only hardware in one box. Another box had bent legs and rusty parts from the rain. I assembled 2 chairs from the usable parts of 2 boxes and then traded them for one of the boxes. I used a full roll of packing tape to make sure the box was sealed and didn't have any holes with all the pieces inside. Maybe the manufacturer/Amazon should do that too, because the same drill came in on my third box. I was able to reassemble 2 chairs despite bent legs and missing hardware. If we didn't get 3 boxes of 6 chairs it would be a complete wash. Despite all this, the assembled chairs are beautiful, durable and comfortable. Hope they last long. Just take a look.
