I think I got a good deal on this single unit. In addition, it has the ability to watch TV from a cellphone, giving it the benefits of both a wired and a wireless connection. Losing the internet connection will not affect the recording of the cameras or the device as the cameras are connected to it. Connected to a router via an Ethernet cable, it can be viewed remotely using an app on your phone. While its functionality is broad, its user interface is rather lacking. It's complicated and doesn't provide any information on what specific features or settings are. If you're already familiar with nvr or dvr, you shouldn't have too much trouble. I would not recommend this device for users who are setting up security for the first time. Overall, it serves its purpose and is a good value for a bare bones block.
