I started pre-taping (with leukotape) places on my feet where I might get blisters from walking and hiking. I have huge baby feet with no corns, I can't even check my mail without putting my shoes on. I've tried in-ear socks before, but they never really helped. Moleskin works well but doesn't hold up and even the thin material feels like I stuffed something extra into my boot. Leukotape is thin and sticky like duct tape, but slightly more flexible and easier to apply, especially on and around the toes. It doesn't tear easily so I usually cut it with scissors or a very sharp pocket knife. I can work several days on just one application. It doesn't last as long in humid conditions, but much longer than Moleskin. When I wear it I don't feel it in the boot anymore and I don't even get hot spots anymore. a week backpacking trip and I don't want to waste the tape to lighten the backpack and reduce bulk by skimming the extra tape off a new roll.
