I bought a stove last week and have already cooked a few camping meals on it. This review is my first impression of the oven. What's good: I like that you can control the temperature from a slow boil to a full boil. It boils water very quickly (2 minutes 20 seconds for 2 cups of cool tap water). I used the cook function to make ramen noodles. It worked pretty well. Not perfect, but good enough. The ability to control the temperature/cooking of a compact stove is new to me having bought my last stove almost 30 years ago. The wide mouth mug/pot was ideal for stirring during cooking and eating when the food was ready to be eaten. I've seen other reviews where the Pezio lighter didn't work. The Pezio lighter/lighter works great on my stove. The Bad: I know this is going to drive me crazy, but hopefully I can get used to the throttle working backwards. -intuitive. You have to turn it to the left to open the gas nozzles and to the right to close them. (The complete opposite of what we usually expect.) Why would Jetboil do something like that? (I have no idea.) I made the mistake of buying a large can of gas since it was only $1 more than the smaller can. I didn't take into account that a large canister of fuel would need to be packed separately as the fuel and the inside of the stove will not fit in the mug. From now on I only buy small canisters so that I can get everything together when packing. Overall, my first impressions are positive. I hope it will serve me for at least another ten years (hopefully more).
