Poor quality product - I do not recommend for real camping

In my experience the JetBoil team invests more in advertising/marketing than in quality outdoor products. I've been using isobutane stoves for a while and wanted to try this one because it looked very efficient and had some appliances that might be useful outdoors to improve cooking comfort, however the product is NOT designed for outdoor use; the quality is terrible.1. After a few uses the container broke and now it's whole at the bottom.2. There is a problem with the ignition system. It's…

Fuel valve partially open to create nice flames

I was skeptical about this type of stove. I have used a white gas stove for 30 years. When I was a kid, white gas was the only camping stove. When these cartridge stoves first appeared, they weren't designed for cold weather. Fuel and stove just didn't work in cold weather. I carefully check everything I buy because I'm a skeptic. I put two gas cans in the freezer at 0 Def F for 6 hours. 100gr and 230gr. Both worked the same way. The kiln burned slightly less hot than the fuel, which was 70…

Pros: I like the fact that you can use the .

I bought a stove last week and have already cooked a few camping meals on it. This review is my first impression of the oven. What's good: I like that you can control the temperature from a slow boil to a full boil. It boils water very quickly (2 minutes 20 seconds for 2 cups of cool tap water). I used the cook function to make ramen noodles. It worked pretty well. Not perfect, but good enough. The ability to control the temperature/cooking of a compact stove is new to me having bought my last…

Suitable for hiking and camping

I swapped out bulkier camping gear for something more hiking oriented and REI highly recommended it. This is my first camping stove and I love it! It is compact, easy to use, cooks easily with other utensils and saves fuel. All accessories fit well and you don't need to buy Jetboil brand fuel. We bought a can of Coleman fuel from Walmart which worked great, was cheaper and we've used it for 7+ hikes. If you are actually backpacking then I would recommend the Jetboil brand as they are smaller…

Works well but be very careful when packing for transport and storage

The weak point of this stove is the burner flame ignition system which has a tiny wire that jumps a spark around the gas in the fire to ignite. This tiny wire can fail if bent in the wrong place. It is at the base of the burner. And it is very easy to accidentally bend it. If and when it bends, the spark doesn't combine with the gas to create a flame. I read many reviews that the lighter failed after about 3 uses on both Amazon and REI. I've used this little stove on a few kayak trips where the
