Review on Jetboil MiniMo: The Ultimate 🔥 Camping and Backpacking Stove Cooking System by Aaron Ayo

Fuel valve partially open to create nice flames

I was skeptical about this type of stove. I have used a white gas stove for 30 years. When I was a kid, white gas was the only camping stove. When these cartridge stoves first appeared, they weren't designed for cold weather. Fuel and stove just didn't work in cold weather. I carefully check everything I buy because I'm a skeptic. I put two gas cans in the freezer at 0 Def F for 6 hours. 100gr and 230gr. Both worked the same way. The kiln burned slightly less hot than the fuel, which was 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I also had to open the fuel tap all the way. If I shook the stove a little, the flame got bigger. The fuel tap should be half open at room temperature. The flame no longer comes from the burner. At room temperature I checked the boiling time. The fuel valve is partially open to get a nice flame. Then I put in a saucepan with 16 ounces of water. It took exactly 2 minutes and 15 seconds to cook. Exactly as advertised. I am impressed. I don't think the boiling time will be much different at 0 degrees. I think it will be a good camping stove. Let's see how long a 100 gram can lasts. This should take 60 minutes. If not, you'll hear from me. I will still be replacing my old white gas range but it will be for ultra low temperatures and multi fuel capability. I think the fuel valve/adjustable design is a plus. From 0 degrees, I think this oven will serve me well. Also, I used jet fuel cooking. I read a bit about fuel. Use Jet Boil or MSR. Other brands of fuel blends are not rated for cold weather.
