The weak point of this stove is the burner flame ignition system which has a tiny wire that jumps a spark around the gas in the fire to ignite. This tiny wire can fail if bent in the wrong place. It is at the base of the burner. And it is very easy to accidentally bend it. If and when it bends, the spark doesn't combine with the gas to create a flame. I read many reviews that the lighter failed after about 3 uses on both Amazon and REI. I've used this little stove on a few kayak trips where the package stuffs your camping gear and gear into holes in dry bags with plenty of room to fold the wire if it doesn't fit snugly in the cooking bowl. I see this as a problem when packing a backpack or even car kitchenware. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that the stove is packed in the cup to protect the ignition wire, and when cooking, be careful not to hit it with the pan, then it will survive to work. Take a small lighter with you just in case. Or waterproof matches, although you have a nice little torch until the waterproof match burns out. for these little torches shall not be extinguished! I also bought a soup pot to share with my partner and another thing that's easy to mess up is the protective plastic cover for the bottom of the pot. The protective lid doubles as a dinner plate, as long as you remember to remove it before putting the pot on the stove! Mine now looks like an intentional donut-shaped protective case and still protects the base perfectly. This little stove boils water very quickly and the low temperature control works as advertised. Let's see how long it takes me to ruin the fuse wire!
