Two things you may not see in the picture: The two machined ends can be installed directly into the super clamp - no brass bit required - The 3 pieces will not come apart. If you only want a 2-piece configuration, the tubes don't just pop out like that. On the other hand, it is a feature that the tubes do not slip out when adjusting.
