UCAN powder has been my favorite for many years. I can't remember when I discovered UCAN, but I ran my first marathon in 2009 and it wasn't long after. I have tried a number of products (Clif gels, blocks and similar products from other companies). UCAN has proven to be the most consistent for my performance and stomach! I recently ran a marathon (my 11th) and felt great at mile 22. (And I don't mean that I feel good, just great.) I drank 4 ounces of water mixed with a scoop every hour. At 60, my marathon time has dropped to four hours, but my overall running health has improved. It is important to mix UCAN the night before. It really improves the flavor and texture. I recommend mixing UCAN a variety of ways (one scoop per 8 oz water, 4 oz water gel, mixed with milk) and see what works best for you. If you're hesitant about the price, try some of the packages and flavors for a single serving. Chocolate is by far my favorite and I use vanilla every now and then. I also used UCAN as part of my carb intake three to four days before a marathon.
