I bought this mount after hearing my wife complain that the radar detectors were in her line of sight, couldn't reach them and the suction cups failed at exactly the wrong moment . many times. I was also looking for something that would be durable and also protect my property from the prying eyes of thieves. After installing mounts in my cars a few weeks later, I was surprised when I was pulled over for driving 5 miles over the limit. The police officer who stopped me was shocked that he hadn't seen my detector as he passed me head-on. He explained that suction cups are usually useless, even when his radar is not on.
