My common room is far from my office where my internet router is located. The Wi-Fi signal is weak, so the speed is slow. The family room TV can stream 1080P videos normally but choppy at 4K. I've tried other ways to extend internet access to the family room without using a cable, including WiFi and powerline ethernet. They were all a waste of money. None of them offer the best throughput. Finally, I decided to return to the main thing: laying the cable. I carefully measured the required cable length before deciding on a cable length. The minimum length was 40 feet, so 50 feet should give me reasonable wiggle room. I drilled a hole from the office to the garage, routed wires through the garage ceiling, and drilled a hole in the common room. This flat cable works very well. Its light weight allows the included small clips to hold it in place. 3M Adhesive Pads adhere well to unfinished drywall but not to drywall areas. It took me 2 hours to get it working, way less time than it took me to get the other tools working. I now have full internet bandwidth in my family room. The TV is now connected to the Internet without WiFi. It's a cheap, time-saving and most effective solution.
