Excellent fit for hiking. We took ours around Laos The waist belt is great for lightening the weight The back and mesh pocket are very handy It had everything we needed for a 2 week trip and then some Our only complaint was that it wasn't in Fitted some carry-on bins when it should have, but nothing special.
