I finally solved my problem with listening to music by the pool in the backyard with this bluetooth receiver/amplifier! I like having outdoor speakers permanently installed instead of carrying a rechargeable Bluetooth speaker with me every time I go to the pool, for both the convenience and the superior sound quality. The problem for me has always been how to drive these speakers with a receiver/amplifier that isn't in it. Electronics don't do well outdoors at all. But if the amp is indoors then it becomes more awkward and probably out of Bluetooth range when I want to stream music from my smartphone, which of course I have with me when I'm in the pool. With this /amp receiver and an all-weather box that I also bought from Revain - PROBLEM SOLVED! I've Velcro mounted the receiver/amplifier and its power supply in a weatherproof box next to a 110V AC weatherproof outlet, and the sound comes through two Polk outdoor speakers that are permanently mounted outside. The compact size makes it convenient to fit in an enclosure that mounts discreetly outside under the deck steps but beside the pool, allowing it to be conveniently turned on and off when someone goes out to enjoy the pool. The Bluetooth range is pretty decent - at 40 feet (line of sight or partial obstruction) I still get a solid connection with just a rare glitch telling me I'm probably close to the range limit. The sound quality is excellent, which is more due to the quality of the speakers, but still. It's worth nothing. Also, with 8 ohm street speakers, I had concerns that this little amp wouldn't give me a decent volume, but I'm pleasantly surprised. It creates a lot of volume and without distortion. I'll probably never turn it on more than halfway or I'll get complaints from my neighbors. The electronics don't perform well outdoors (humidity, heat, cold, dust, etc.), but for the price, you can't beat this package. If this company would release a device that included an equalizer and was still as compact as this little device, I would take the opportunity to try it out. Overall a great product and a very happy customer.
