At first the caller ID window seemed to work fine. I particularly liked the redial function. However, people told me that they tried to call me earlier but got my fax machine. The thing is, I don't have a fax machine. I dismissed it as strange but then a friend called me on my cell phone and said he had been trying to get my regular phone all day but it was busy. Which again shouldn't have happened because I wasn't on the phone. I then called my house phone with my cell phone and received a fax signal. I tried again and this time I got a busy signal. I tried again and finally it rang. So basically it was a stroke of luck when the call got through. The phone company came out and found the problem was in the caller ID block. After removing the phone worked fine. They said caller ID units should work on the line without causing this problem. Most likely, this happened at the moment when I set the called ID box. However, since it didn't affect outgoing calls, I wasn't aware of the issue until I started receiving complaints from friends. As a result, you may need to call yourself from time to time to ensure that the Called Party ID window does not cause incoming callers to receive a fax or busy signal. Unfortunately, I lost faith in the product after this experience. It's just not worth wondering if it's blocking calls or calling itself to make sure the product is still working. I had the product less than two months (14 days right of return). So if you're buying this product I suggest calling a few times a week to make sure it's still working properly due to the narrow return window.
