I understand why some reviewers say doing otherwise is plagiarism. And to a certain extent I agree, if you've been using it all along then you're wasting your money. I wash mine with liquid soap most of the time and then rinse with it every few weeks to keep my cartridges lasting for me. within a few months. I do what the manufacturer recommends for self-cleaning, where you run a line of liquid soap across the top of the razor and slowly drip drops of water around it (I just wet my hands and hold my fingers down so that water drips) and let it froth. It does a great job of making it out of small hairs that you can't remove by simply taking it apart, combing it, and pouring water on it while it's flowing. Then, after it's frothed up, I just run it under fast running water, then take the lid off and run it some more, then let it air dry. Most of the time it works fine, but after using it I do a cycle with this one every few months. So not a rip off for me because besides my own cleaning, using it has kept my razor in top shape and didn't cost me much at all.
