Review on Sabine Lipperts Beaded Fantasies Beadweaving by Kelly Caballes

I absolutely LOVE everything about this book. The illustrations and photos are beautiful. Usually when I buy a book like this I'm either disappointed with the clarity of the instructions or the lack of inspiring projects, or the projects don't involve jewelry that I will actually wear. As soon as I turned the first page of this book, I knew this was a winner. I have been involved with beads/beads for a few years and consider myself more advanced than a beginner and I easily figured out how to make each piece based on the written instructions and the diagram that follows each step. There is no guesswork here. Everything is very clear. If you are new to beadwork and have never followed a written guide or video, this is probably not the first book I would buy. If you know how to do some basics like square weaving, peyote stitch, CRAW, brick stitch and have some experience behind you then you will love this book. Speaking of projects. She will teach you how to craft a variety of items including earrings, chokers, necklaces, bracelets and pendants. It also includes alternate color options for each part, which is very useful as color can change the entire look of a design. The first chapter covers the consumables and methods used throughout the book. Chapter 2: Embellished bases (using plain stitches and embellishment with smaller beads). Very cool chapter with a lot of inspiration. Chapter 3: Cut Stones (Mostly Rivolis) Chapter 4: A Matter of Architecture Chapter 5: Pearly Centers Chapter 6: A Nation of Sabination (or How Pearls Approach Design). I recommend this to anyone who enjoys working with beads and Rivolis. Your designs are amazing. And her story is quite interesting too. In fact, she's a doctor and has a crush on pearls.
