Needed an odd size product and they supplied

I couldn't find them at any hardware store so I checked Revain. They meet the requirements and have worked as advertised.

Hard to find fastener

I visited Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace. No correct length 3/8" was available. Plain cotter pin. I wanted a 3/8" diameter 2 1/4". Perfect replacement. Arrived on time as advertised.

Exactly as described

I replace the hook bolts on my quick release with these pins. With pins I can move the hook without tools. It is now in the experimental stage. I have yet to determine if this is a viable solution or not.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I don't like it, it's ok

Pin clamp not included

They seem to be of pretty decent quality. I use them to hold a wooden frame in the pockets of folding cargo trailers. My 2 problems are that the head is very small, not much shoulder to hold the pin in. The bigger problem is that they don't come with the R-clamps (aka hitch clamp or cotter pin) which are of course needed to hold these pins in place and hold position.

  • Length: 2-1/2"

5 holes only: pins

I bought these for a very specific application where I need holes in the head of the pin, not the end. However, this 2.5 inch long 7 hole pin (as pictured) will still work if the holes go more than halfway down the pin. Unfortunately the pins I received only had 5 holes and came out less than half the length of the pin. So I had to cut the head off the pin and use it the other way around.

Pros
  • Diameter: 3/8"
Cons
  • Expensive

Right size and gauge for my application

I use a couple of these pins to hold the alternator handle in place. Once the handle is attached and secured with two of these pins (one on each side of the two-legged handle), I can easily move the generator by lifting the handle. The generator's large wheels make pushing or pulling the handle a breeze, and these pins are more than strong enough to withstand the force. I searched hardware stores for a better pin - or even one that would even fit - and couldn't find anything better for my…
