I bought this lamp to replace a malfunctioning old lamp on my church organ. This makes the music much easier to read. Sitting at a music stand makes it harder to access the on/off switch and color controls. I think this would be the perfect table lamp or bedside lamp. There is no shielding over the light source, so I turned it on and went to the pews to find the best way to place it so that it wouldn't disturb anyone in the congregation. (I've tested this with other lamps as well. I think the darkest setting would be fine for the Christmas Eve candle service. It's a little clunky like an organ lamp, due to the controls behind the music stand, but overall I think the lamp is very good like it.You need a small cube adapter to plug it into a power source (wall?) My biggest hesitation before buying: I wasn't sure what and how to plug it in. It wasn't clear to me in the description about the extension cord , to use it on an organ, which may not be necessary in all cases.
