Matching replacement for Scamp RV - Plastic Check Valve

I used this to replace a leaking city water connection on our Scamp 19ft RV. The Scamp came with a factory fitting that had two holes, but the replacement parts I found had two holes on the flange, or had the wrong fitting on the inside (socket or pin), or the flange was slightly smaller than the stock flange. . Having no idea if the holes would line up perfectly, even if I found a suitable two-hole option, I chose this replacement, knowing it meant drilling a few new holes in fiberglass. This replacement seems to work well and the lid is tight so you don't have to worry about it falling out when you travel. Installation was fairly easy and I just hooked it up to a Watts Aqualock barbed fitting to connect a 90 degree fitting which allowed me to connect a factory PEX cold water line. I also added a Walls Aqualock knob to connect to a quarter turn ball value so I can shut off the city water line so we can use our 12v water pump without this connection leaking in case the rubber O -Ring solves (which was a problem). with the old connector that made this replacement necessary in the first place). The Aqualock connectors I used are plastic and lightweight, which I think is just right for an RV that will be hopping the highway for years. If I were working with copper wiring at home I would opt for brass connectors instead, but in an RV I'm sure these plastic options will last for decades. drilled two new holes and was able to use one of the original holes. I added butyl sealing tape to the back of the joint before pressing it into place and it sealed everything including an original hole in the fiberglass that I won't be using. I chose to use triple aluminum "explosion" rivets for my setup so the rivets have more surface area on the back without having someone in the RV to hold the washer in place. This worked fantastically and resulted in an extremely reliable and secure connection. To be honest the three mount flange is actually much more durable and doesn't flex like the original two bolt connection so I'm glad I went with that option. My only complaint here and the reason I chose four stars instead of five. The star rating is that the actual benchmark is plastic, not brass. When I bought the link (and now as I write this review) the specs say it comes with a "brass lead-free check valve". A couple of other options I considered indicated that they had plastic check valves, but the fact that this one said it was brass made me buy it as I thought it would last a lot longer would hold. . However, after connecting it, it became clear that the check valve is actually made of plastic, like many other available options. The connector body is brass (like most other options) but I suspect the plastic check valve is a weak point. See photos for a closer look at the actual check valve. Anyway, that one complaint wasn't serious enough to send it back for a refund, so I installed it and it's been working great so far. I haven't had any leaks and this appears to be a quality product. The white flange actually matches the white of the fiberglass and looks better than the original chrome version that was replaced, although whether the white flange will hold up over time remains to be seen. We haven't used our city water supply except to test the system at home, and I don't suspect we'll be using it much. On top of that I have an integrated check valve installed and won't have to worry about another replacement in the future, but if for any reason this unit fails in a year or two I will definitely update my review. . .
