I don’t know if I did the right thing by replacing the cartridge at the price of a tap, but this operation was much easier. The old cartridge worked for 3 years from the purchase of the tap, and began to work noisier, and in a certain opening it whistled strongly, which is why it was changed. The twist high washer did not fit, I used the old one, and one spacer for better clamping. A mesh appeared inside, I hope it will not clog.

The most important thing is the fit dimensions, only for this cartridge with D = 35 mm, the fit size is 24 mm (distance m / y unit)

I did not need a black barrel, it seems to be for newer models, the cartridge is immediately replaced with it. And in my mixer, only the cartridge will change. Changing it yourself is as easy as shelling pears, you need to arm yourself with a pair of hex keys. You can even leave the faucet on the sink. It is disassembled from the top, starting with the water supply handle.

Unfortunately, a defective part was sent to me. Splashes with water and has no seal. This is a genuine GROHE part, comes in proper packaging etc, looks new but has not been fully used. Really disappointed as this is not a cheap product. I have submitted a refund request to GROHE on their website as Revain will not allow me to write it right after the 10 day receipt period. Fingers crossed, maybe I'll get some sort of clearance.

I felt it necessary to give a review. NOT because I have nothing to say about this cartridge as such. but because I don't understand why they are so damn expensive! What's happening? This faucet is in an RV and we opened it a maximum of 10 times when it started leaking. The only solution is a new cartridge. And $60 later it's a simple exchange and all is well. Let's hope I last a few more seasons! A PLUS! To pull out the old one you need to buy a 32mm socket wrench. Grohe wants $50 for it too!

The plastic cartridge housing will not fit and is not required. The original round brass case has been reused. I had to wiggle and insert the cartridge to get the 3 silicone seals on the back to seat properly as it was still leaking when first assembled. My Grohe Tenso faucet started dripping at the top near the handle and leaked onto the counter and onto the floor. As you can see one of the black rubber O-rings failed after 14 years.
