I bought this for my son, he is 7 years old. He's still young, so he's learning to count, and that helped him remember what coins are worth what. He really likes that it matters to him. It comes with stickers so you can "personalize" the big one, give him eyes and other stickers. He thought it was pretty cool. It was easy to set up, just attaching batteries to the counting roof and installing them on the pig. When we threw away his ceramic jar to add $10 coins to this one, I found that the counting mechanism worked very accurately. He even recognized the half dollar and dollar coins correctly. I have to say that larger coins are much harder to push up for younger ones. I've fought a couple of times and if you don't make it the first time, the mechanism counts the coin twice and you have to remove the cover to insert it. Of the $10 in coins we deposited at the bank, the value shown on the screen was $11.19.
