This Accell Thunderbolt 3 Dock worked pretty well when I first got it. I have a 2018 15" MacBook Pro and a Dell monitor. The powered USB port did not always power my external WD MyPassport drive or Apple OEM CD-ROM drive. But it worked adequately with other USBs -Peripherals, including USB sticks. The monitor worked fine with the Thunderbolt USB-C port. Although the screen settings (colors and contrast) were strangely different than when I connected the monitor directly to the MBP with the same cable and made an adjustment The biggest problem, however, became apparent a few months after purchase: My MBP overheats when plugged into the charger It gets uncomfortably warm I was hesitant to leave it on overnight when the problem started to appear. However, when I change the MBP, it connects to the Apple OEM charger and cable, no overheating occurs, after that it works properly Via an additional USB-A port. And less expensive.
