Sitting in my chair got my neck killed. I tried different sizes/shapes of pillows with different fillings. But they all increased the neck pain. In the end, I decided that a travel pillow that fits my neck might solve my problem. This pillow works, but still has some disadvantages. First, it has a chemical odor (it seems to smell like microgranules, not fabric). I washed the cover, but I don't recommend washing the entire pillow. If the lining tears or tears at the zippers/stitching, these microbeads can cause serious repair problems for your washer/dryer. After washing/drying the cover I sprayed Febreze all over the pillow and it reduced the odor to a level I could tolerate. Second, all beads are the same (very small) size. Maybe changing the size of the beads will improve the support. Also, there aren't enough beads on the pillow. Within minutes of use, all of the beads have moved to either end of the pillow, leaving your neck in a small valley supported by just a few beads. This requires frequent beating to bring the beads back to the center. I can cut the seam on the lining and add some beads. But since the lining is a thin, fragile fabric, I'm concerned that loosening the stitching could result in some/all of the beads getting inside the case. Then I can never wash the cover again. This is unacceptable as the lid gets dirty pretty quickly. Third, when using a strap, the ends of the pillow tend to pop out in front of your face, making reading or watching TV difficult. I've stopped using belts and have resigned myself to walking often. The cover is soft and before the balls move, the pillow is comfortable. You have to decide for yourself whether another pillow suits you better.
