Review on Chuanganzhuo Camera Universal Normal Reverse by Michael Colley

Installed summer 2015 on the back of a 3rd generation Toyota Rav4 (2006-2012) with an Auto-Vox replacement rear view mirror which I also purchased here at Revain. So far the camera is working great, although it's only been a few days. The thread and nut on the mounting shaft looked a little sketchy, but they ended up tightening up nicely. Just to make sure it's waterproof, I applied some clear silicone sealant to the flat surface of the camera during installation to make sure it was pressed firmly against the car where I installed it. As another reviewer said, this also requires adjustments if you want to tweak the image. There is a green wire that can be cut if you want to eliminate the reversed leads (i.e. red, yellow and green lines) and a white wire that can be cut if you want a mirror image instead of a straight lead. I left mine from the factory and it worked great for my purposes (EDIT: Based on one of the comments on this review, it looks like the manufacturer swapped the functions of the white and green image mod wires - I'd recommend following all of them instructions supplied with complete box). Comes with plenty of RCA video cables to get the job done in Rav4 3rd Gen. Will update if I have problems with it. UPDATE 11/30/15 - After 6 months of using this camera it is still working. I have a factory backup camera on my other car and I hate to say this, but this little camera outperforms the factory backup on my other car. The other car's factory unit is a little more visible at night, but this camera produces a sharper image and better colors than the fuzzy, washed-out factory unit. I still don't want to believe that the Revain camera really goes that far in this price range, but so far everything has been flawless. Will update again in the future if I have problems with it. UPDATE 6/23/16. It's been over a year since I installed this camera and it still works great. It rained a lot where I live and I drove many kilometers at high speed on the Autobahn in said rain. No problems to report. UPDATE 05/17/17. It's been two years with this camera and still no complaints. Image quality is still excellent (and still better than the factory camera in my other device) and performance is flawless. Tens of thousands of miles, lots of downpours, car washes, snow, salt, light off-road, etc. and it still works perfectly and continues to give a much better picture than the factory unit in my other, newer car. Right now, this camera doesn't owe me anything. Update: five stars from me. UPDATE 10/22/18. I have used this camera and its cables for more than three years. Nearly 30,000 miles of almost daily use and no problems to report. No complaints from me. UPDATE 03/26/20. It's been 5 years and 50,000 miles since I first installed the camera. The camera still works great when I backup. Continued 5 stars.
