This part is an exact replacement for my Sears Kenmore HE4 dryer (paired with a front loading HE4t washer). The dryer door opened due to the heat in the dryer, with or without clothes. It was usually opened halfway through the drying cycle. The repair costs were high enough to consider a replacement instead, so I turned to finding replacement clasps. This is the best I've found, both in terms of price and quality. If you replace the latches yourself, then this is not difficult, but there are some tricks. My dryer repair manual said to remove the door, lay it flat, remove the inside (12 screws), etc. It would be nearly impossible to reassemble properly. It was a little tricky - you didn't have to drop the pieces in the door - but I did it in about an hour, and I'm not very tech savvy.
