I bought this for my 4 year old who has trouble staying in his room at night. He doesn't do well with a night light - it lights up the room enough to stay awake and gets scared when it gets too dark. He has bad dreams and always ends up in my room. He chose it and he loves it. The projection is fairly clear and covers most of the room without feeling too bright. There are many color combinations and even just white. And you can have it rotate or leave it in place. With all the options, he looks forward to lying down every night and choosing which one he wants. He still ends up in my room often, but the fear of his own room is gone. And I love it so much that sometimes I just want to hang out in his room because it's so quiet and soothing ;) I was a bit hesitant because other reviews reported a crunching noise, but so far so good. We've been using it every night for a month with no problems (and usually accidentally left it on during the day).
