Review on πŸ“· Hubsan X4 (H107C) RC Quadcopter with Camera - Red/Black (Discontinued) by Will Ridpath

Very fun, durable, blades pop out easily. Very fast. Buy this instead of Proto X or UDI micro.

Enjoy. It's a great time to fly if you give yourself enough space. Inside is slow, outside you can actually travel. Pros: Fast, good remote control, blades are easy to replace IF they break. (Yes, buy more). The blade guard is included but it was taped to the bottom of the box so I almost accidentally threw it away. Cons: The blades come off easily for my taste. (Update, I think the blade guard encourages the blade to fall out and constricts it). Also one of my motors came loose, I think the blade guard helped pull it out. With hard hits, the legs come loose easily, that's the shock-release function to protect against impacts, they can simply be put back together. As soon as you feel it, I'd drop the blade guard. I've flown it outside in light winds and it will climb higher than you can see so watch which direction it's headed forward or you'll lose it at high altitude. Also, it's easy to forget that your throttle is too high because it's so small. Don't forget to slow down when driving vertically outside. When rapidly descending from a high altitude, switch back and forth slightly to avoid a jerky descent into your own airflow, which will make the video choppy anyway. Or just drive slower. Despite some of my issues I fly it pretty hard and had some pretty bad full speed collisions directly into walls and it still works. I use the original blades and go to a replacement kit and I have one, the motor is loose but there will be an easy fix. I would buy this again without hesitation. I also have a Proto X Micro Quad which is lighter and better to fly. This remote is a lot of fun on the Proto as it seems to squeeze a little more performance out of it. If I had to choose just one, I'd spend a little more and go with the Hubsan X4. Proto loses its blades even faster and is more easily damaged. The Note doesn't come with a micro SD card so I had to bring one, but it's cheap. The videos are pretty good, care must be taken to ensure the flight is smooth and even then you won't get nauseous watching your own videos. Update: I broke my arm crashing into the wall, the super glue worked and I'm back in business. However, I recommend 4-5 batteries and a USB multiport charger, add a battery charger and you can charge your batteries in the park and fly on almost non-stop. Batteries last much longer than my UDI 818 or Estes Proto quads. Very happy with the purchase!
