Review on πŸ–±οΈ Enhanced Ergonomic Trackball Mouse: SANWA 2.4G Wireless Optical Vertical Rollerball Mice with Silent Buttons, 34mm Trackball, Adjustable DPI, Compatible with MacBook, Laptop, PC, Windows, macOS by Anthony Morrow

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The scroll wheel is too stiff for "ergonomics ", but most others have the right price

Update 8/19. The first set of Revain Basic AAA batteries just finished. Maybe turned off twice. So not quite 3 weeks at least 8 hours a day. update 2.8. Another thing that caused me to drop from "3.5" to 3. If he falls asleep after X minutes of inactivity, instead of waking him up with the trackball, you have to press the left mouse button, which is sometimes painful. depending on where the pointer is when it goes to sleep. This placement seems a bit "random" so ads can be clicked etc. Original: Finding the "perfect" mouse after decades of use/overuse is nearly impossible. Arguably the best was the MS Rollerball (? don't remember the model) made in the late 90's, but even that had issues (not wide enough etc.). I've been using it for years but I need a wireless one. I've tried most of them with and without rollers, vertical etc and it's like Goldilocks looking for the right mush (too easy solution in this one) or more like the princess and the pea. However, I swear that no manufacturer seems to have tested pre-production models on people who actually have nerve/ligament issues plus osteoarthritis, or more importantly, who want to prevent problems in the future. Let's get to the mouse. Like everything else, it's not wide enough. I have a medium(?) palm size and finger span (just under 4 inches from the outer base of index finger to the outer base of pinky) which is pretty close to putting my hand on it and not tucking my thumb in. to the ball or leave my pinky unsupported, but the conclusion still sucks, just not as much as the others. When I relax my hand at the top and rest my pinky comfortably on the right side of the base, the device needs to be 1 inch wider at the widest point to my thumb was perfectly comfortable on the roll. Better than most though. The roller moves from good to very good, and with a small speed adjustment in the mouse settings (for Win10) everything is fine. I really like the left and right buttons. Not too hard to click and not too much downstroke. Nice solid feeling. The worst thing for me is the scroll wheel. Too stiff I think to get a crisp, clicky feel while rolling. Ergonomically, it really sucks. I've tried setting the number of rows to decrease with each click, but that doesn't help (it's too low for me if you choose 10 or more instead of the default of 8 or so). Good solid Bluetooth signal and no problem connecting to my old laptop. No idea about the battery life (2xAAA) as I've only had it for a few days. I've fitted a couple of new Amzone Basics which I have a lot of and if they eat them up too fast I'll switch to rechargeable ones. I know I won't forget to turn it off most of the time (an automatic timer would be nice), so we'll see. Networking etc. 8-10 and sometimes more hours a day 7 days a week Genealogy and other research Overall better than good and a lot depends on the health and size of your hand For me it's really 3-3.5 but four is definitely not out of reach, healthier hands might well find the five.
