4t/5t turned out to be kids size M

The clothes are very big and we have to wait 2 to 3 years before we can wear them. I ordered a size 4t5t and the clothing says medium. Not sure if this is correct. We are very sad because we love the blues and she can't carry it. The design is perfect but not for small children as described.
