I recently switched to a Nikon D200 with a Nikor 18-200 zoom and bought an SB800 flash to match the camera. As many have written in the D200 reviews, this is a great camera. It's amazing how fantastically the flash complements the D200. I've just started harnessing the power of this lightning bolt, but so far it's invincible. Camera, lens and flash work together like a fantastic system. The exposure metering system is amazing. I used it in full program mode and let the system think. The results were good as expected. When I started applying more pressure, like putting the camera in full manual mode and letting the flash dictate how much extra light is needed, it didn't skip a beat. Similar amazing results have been achieved with bounce flashes, diffused flashes, and even multiple flashes per exposure for a strobed effect. All had a balanced exposure. Flash operation requires some training. For example, you need to know what the different modes are, how they appear on the LCD screen, and how to set them up. It's not difficult, but it takes time to get used to them. All in all, this is an amazing product that I am sure will delight me for years to come.
