Despite some reservations about purchase due to 'bad smell' reviews. we went ahead and bought one. The rug arrived today and having forgotten the complaints about the smell we put it on the table and got to work. It only took 10 minutes until the whole office smelled a terrible smell. It just smells like a paper mill (kind of sulphurous), with a hint of mothballs (naphthalene). I rubbed it down with rubbing alcohol and soapy water, left it out for a few days and will be returning it if the stink doesn't go away by then! (Edited a few weeks later to say the smell never leaves this product so we returned it. Fiskars should be ashamed of selling junk. It could ruin any reputation they have.)
