Not perfect but close enough to deserve 5 stars. We were pleasantly surprised to find a replacement pedal in excellent condition for our still working sewing machine. . The price seemed fair. Certainly lighter (by weight) than the original as it is made of plastic. The original foot pedal was solid and metal, so bulletproof. Except for the resistance mechanism (which regulates speed). The original used what looked like a graphite(?) "penny stack" that controlled how much current was passed, thus modulating the speed. But he was slowly but surely becoming more and more unreliable. So the compromise was to use cheaper, lower quality plastic with speed modulation electronic circuits to replace the foot pedal tank, which used the already unreliable resistance method. Was the compromise worth it? Yes. Absolutely. 100%. By the way, the pin connections (in the sewing machine plug) were very tight. I had to move a little to connect it. But later use has shown that it is becoming easier and easier to connect it. 5 Stars.
