I was looking for a replacement for my favorite vanilla lip gloss because it was reformulated and now I'm allergic to it. So I tried almost every lip gloss on the market, unflavored or vanilla flavored. (I don't like ones that have mint, orange, lemon, or some other strong flavor.) When I first tried this, it seemed like the perfect substitute. The texture is perfect, smooth and not waxy at all. There was no flavor and it seemed to take a reasonable amount of time. The problem appeared after a few weeks of use. Whenever I opened the lid, I caught a faint smell of gasoline. It seems to be getting worse every day and every time I open it to use it smells strong and repulsive. If it sits too long between uses, the scent will linger long enough for you to taste it the first time you apply it. In general, this is not the replacement I was looking for.
